Well, I finally got my computer up and running (the GX270 that is) and now I need to investigate why, with my 3rd computer, the flagship ATI 9800 Radeon All In Wonder does not work. It will not even allow my computer to boot. Here I sit at ATI's Customer Care page and I am not sure if they really are going to do something or if I have a $450 Christmas Tree ornement.

Well I just got my new Dell PC, a GX270 Tower and the new inspiron laptop is on order. Funny thing about the new laptop and PC is that Dell has started charging to put a floppy drive in the machine. Me being the eternal pesimist that I am, I thought to myself, "Self, how are we going to do silly little things like upgrade the bios or boot to a floppy without this $50 option?" Well fortunately for me, I stumbled across this bit of information when flipping through the bios: all new Dell's can now boot from a USB "Jump Drive" with the appropriate software loaded onto the USB drive. You have all seen these things, and no good, self-respecting geek would be seen dead without one. These things have really started to replace floppy drives, and really when you think about it, even a 64MB Jump Drive will cost you all of $25.

Once you update your bios and get yourself a Jump Drive, you will need to get that drive so that you can boot to it. If you have a Dell Computer, go to this site for detailed instructions on how to make the Jump Drive bootable Memory Key Tools: Driver. If you don't have a DELL, you can download a completely different file from my site that will help you create the boot files. Software has no warranty. Sorry to be like that, but I did not write the application and will NOT support the application!!

Don't know if this will help anyone, but I hope it does and if it doesn't help anyone else, it will help me to remember the procedure.

Well this is it, I finally started my graduate school studies on Monday. I don't have a lot to write about but as always, if you have a login for DePaul University, click this link CTI Course Online, if you don't have a login for the university, you can just track what I am doing from my own site. Check here for the latest updates as far as how the class is going. You can also get to my class page (that is MY) from this link.

All done with most of the changes to my website. Now I am going to take this time (from your life) to reflect on yesterday (September 11, 2003).

If you have lived in a hole, you may not know that yesterday was the 2-year "anniversary" of one of the World's most horrific acts of evil of all time. Not trying to take away from any other human tradgedy, but simply put 9/11 was right in front of us and was all that anyone in the USA could see, talk about or relate to for quite a while.

For me, yesterday was not a day of sorrow, only mourning. I went to a baseball game and basically wanted to "show" that I was not afraid to do something in a crowded public place. Before the game there was a Marine Corps Color Guard for the National Amthem followed by a moment of peace for the fallen soldiers who have given their life to save the Freedom frp...

More to come!!
I finally got my office web cam set up Randy in his office -- Web Cam!! I am not going to elaborate but the updates are not constant as my host will only allow 2 connections to my ftp server (and I need one to update the website). I will find a solution next week for this!!

Made some significant strides today in my dog's webcam The Boys in their rooms -- Web Cam!!!! We really don't need to do anything further until we get the streaming cam set up now.

I don't know how long it will be until I get that camera set up. I would say the camera should be set up late this year, then I gotta shell out the $25 for the damn software. Oh well, I guess they probably deserve it, as long as they are not going to fu#$ me with upgrades by coming out as soon as I purchase the software. I hate when companies do that to people.

Ok, enough for today -- oh yeah, today was a cool day at work. Nothing bad happened and that was actually a good thing! I am working on integrating our Lyris email management software and I just got our new email server delivered today and it should be up and running in the next week or so.
You know, with my sparse updates to this blog, one would likely say that I just suck at this whole blog thing. I spent the last week in San Diego, California and loved nearly every minute of it. Of course the part that I did not love, was not getting to see my puppies. As soon as I got back home, I decided I was going to take care of that and installed a web cam to monitor their crates at all times. If you are wondering what they are doing right now, check it out right here: The Boys in their rooms -- Web Cam!!. I love these little guys very much and have been wanting to do this since my puppy Riley broke out of his crate and got into some things that were not very good for him. Read about that here: Riley and the glue/chalk incident.

Well that's it for now. Till next time, see you next time!
