Casey fighting cancerous mass cell tumors

On July 1, 2006 Casey had a mast cell tumor removed from his hind right leg. If you saw Casey, you would never notice that anything was wrong with him aside from the stitches and the shaved spot on his leg. It was quite a scare for Leslie and I -- as it would be for anyone whose dog was being put under. Well, all went well and we went up to my father-in-law's boat about 10 days after the surgery (see the weekend pictures here). We thought we were in the clear and then in September 2006, we found another lump, this time on his front right leg. We took Casey in to the vet and he wanted to operate right away. We set up his surgery and had the second lump removed. As long as he can make it 30 weeks without a recurrence, he will be considered healed.

Fundraising for those less fortunate - 2006

We have something very important to discuss with you! This year (as in all years past) Casey & Riley will be taking part in Bark in the Park**. The difference this year is that we have the ability to raise funds online as well as through the manual method. Of course the online method is preferable since that gets the money to the people (and dogs) that need it most a little faster. ** Bark in the Park raises money for the Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society and is a 3 mile walk that dogs must complete (with their owners trailing behind).

Halloween 2005

Casey and Riley have done halloween yet again... this time they really done it right. I have created a video of their great work on this glorious day. Check out the video here (sorry high bandwidth only, right click and choose save as for low bandwidth)

Casey is now working in Mid-Utility classes. He is doing extremely well on his articles (scent discrimination), retrieves, glove work and other individual items.

Casey's Showing Scorecard

Casey takes 1st place at Winnebego Labrador Retriever Specialty Show to finish off his CD title!!! Sadly the picture shows Casey with 2nd place and Riley with 3rd, but as luck would have it, the dog who got first already had its title and was disqualified at a later date!! All About Casey

Casey was our first born child. While we don't have any baby pictures of Casey, you just know we have plenty of pictures of Casey once we actually got him home and even later in life.

This is the home of our first 'son', Riverroad Casey Snobear. For many years, he was the sole pride of our family and the bundle of joy we had hoped for the entire time we waited for him. With Casey we had to wait a longer than usual time, due to the popularity of his father (Ridgeview Frosty the Snoman) who won the Westminster Kennel Club's Best of Breed Award in 1999. Frosty was tragically taken from this world when he was killed by a truck on April 22, 2003.

Casey was always the "Star of the Show" no matter where he went or what he did. He always showed up everyone (and everything) else around. From his first time in obedience he became the center of attraction.
